Special Issue on Network Technology-Wireless Powered Communication Research Advancements In Power and Energy Sector

This special issue focuses on wireless powered communication research advancements in power and Energy Sectors, which offers important contributions in the exertion to speed up the wireless powered communication in future energy-constrained networks, such as wireless sensor networks (WSNs), wireless personal area networks (WPAN), wireless body area networks (WBAN), Internet of Things (IoT) and RFID networks, etc. It explores many centralized common problems in wireless powered communication networks including the network architecture design, transmission protocol and strategy design, resource allocation and cross-layer optimization.

  • Network architecture and protocol design for RF energy harvesting and WPT
  • Wireless powered machine-to-machine (M2M) and device-to-device (D2D) communications
  • Secure communications with RF energy harvesting
  • Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT)
  • Information and energy beam forming for WPCN
  • Opportunistic RF energy harvesting strategies for cooperative networks
  • Massive MIMO design for WPCNs
  • Relay-based WPCNs
  • MAC protocols for WPCNs
  • Self-sustainable transmissions and Network architecture for WPCNs
  • Mobile charger routing and assignment in WPCNs
  • Energy Scheduling and optimization in WPCNs
  • RF energy harvesting/SWIPT-enabled wireless sensor networks and Internet of Things (IoT)
